Where to Fish Little Torch Key
#1 - Marathon Hump
Also known as West Hump, this deep sea fishing spot located 23 miles SSE of Marathon, Florida is home to Blue and White Marlin, Sailfish, Yellowfin, Blackfin tuna, Wahoo, and Mahi. Strong currents of the Gulf Stream originate in the Gulf of Mexico and flow through the Straits of Florida to the Atlantic Ocean.
#2 - Bahia Honda Bridge
A channel located between the Old Bahia Honda Bridge and the Overseas Highway, here you can find the deepest inshore fishing with water depths of 18-25 feet. Tarpon, Permit, Sheepshead, Mutton Snapper, and Hammerhead Sharks can be found in these waters.
#3 - Cudjoe Key
Here you can get in some good shallow sighfishing with channels, mangrove islands, and flats home to Snapper, Grouper, Bonefish, Permit, Tarpon, and Jacks.
#4 - Sugarloaf Key Islands
Backcountry fishing containing clear intimate waters with creeks, flats, and cuts. Here you’ll find Snook, Tarpon, and Permit, though you can also run into Jack Crevalle, Bonnethead Sharks, and some Snapper. Stock up on squid and pen fish!
#5 - Key West
Great year-round fishing with plenty of options. Deep sea fishing the shipwrecks of the Atlantic Ocean or Gulf of Mexico, Key West can find you battling Marlin, Sailfish, Dolphin, Tuna, Kingfish, and Wahoo. Calmwater flat and Backcountry offers incredible nature views with some strategy required to nab some Tarpon, Permit, and Bonefish.
